QUAD (2021 reissue)
This album has the power to illuminate your mind and soul! Here comes psychedelic-ambient-drone-electronic-music: Full of love for the detail, Sun Dial’s Gary Ramon plays his tunes here and you can feel the deep connection to Sun Dial, too! But it’s also a very unique sound-building; like Shiva meets Jesus for a common freak-out on guitars, sitars and severe machines.
Relaxing but not too quiet, this music will take you by the hand and fly into the cosmic wonderland with you. Quad started out as a Gary Ramon solo project in 1991 that was originally known as Liquid. He worked with a couple of collaborators including "Other Way Out" engineer Lee Allen trying to develop a laboratory of recorded sounds devoted to electronic cosmic music. The main source for the sounds was based in some great electronic artists that in those days were quite obscure such as Silver Apples, Tony Conrad, Terry Riley, Pierre Henry, Roland Kovac plus improvisational bands including Amon Duul, Siloah and of course Kraftwerk, Ash Ra Tempel and all the Cosmic Courier label bands, Ohr and Brain labels. Just 3 Quad tapes have come to the light. Now the first Quad is being re-released in a 500 copies edition by Sulatron Records!
